one of the issues i've had with writing lyrics is that you gotta reveal a little bit of yourself. they say write what you know, write what you know, and the problem with that is inevitably you have to share a bit about yourself (not to brag, but its all good shit). Sometimes its easier to be contrived and stale rather than spontaneous, direct, and honest. I used to have a hyper secretive personality.
